Mōu Te Reo is a campaign run by the Ministry of Education to inspire and support all children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand to learn in and through te reo Māori.

While at Foundry Creative, I collaborated with the Ministry on this project, developing a playful and distinct visual identity that embraced the theme of language and brought the campaign to life. We developed a series of resources including a whānau kit that the Ministry could distribute to schools and whānau to support and encourage te reo Māori in the home and classroom. Staff tees and photo props were designed that were embraced by the public and gave Mōu Te Reo a strong presence at events.

The whānau kit packaged a number of creative resources into a custom designed box that included a fun language based card game, poster, sticker sheets, pēpeha, kupu and kai magnet sheets, a notebook for drawing and keeping notes in te reo Māori and a pin. The campaign was embraced with demand for the whānau kit described by the Ministry as overwhelming. We were stoked with how well received the campaign and campaign elements were and were honoured to be part of the project.
